Security agencies in Imo state have been urged to closely work together in order to fight and reduce crime to its barest minimum in the state.
The General Officer Commanding 82 division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Shehu Yusuf stated this in Owerri during the commissioning of the newly constructed shooting range facility within the Obinze barracks of the brigade.
He commended the security agencies for the harmonious relationship within them stressing that unity amongst security agencies is the foundation of any sustainable fight against crime in any given area.
In his welcome address the commander of 34 artillery brigade, Brigadier General Lanre Bello expressed joy that the facility which was abandoned over the years is now a reality.
He stated that the non existence of such facility within the military formation had hampered the continuous training of the officers of the brigade as it brings so much burden of logistics on them moving to other states to carry out such exercises.
He however charged other sister agencies in the state to take advantage of the facility to train and retrain their men and officers.
