From Steph Clem, Umuahia
Abia state is not left out in the wind of resignation of public office holders blowing across the country as Chief of Staff to the state governor, Cosmas Ndukwe resigns his appointment.
His resignation may not be unconnected with his ambition to run for elections into the House of Assembly to represent Bende South state constituency.
Although, the COS has not confirmed his alleged resignation, it was authoritatively gathered that he has not reported to his office since Monday this week even as it was also claimed that he tendered his resignation letter to the governor Wednesday morning.
Apart from the Chief of Staff, another member of Governor Orji’s cabinet that has thrown in the towel to pursue his political ambition is the commissioner for Information and Strategy, Eze Chikamnayo who is gunning for the Umunneochi state constituency at the House of Assembly.
He has equally not made his resignation public just like the former Chief of Staff.
While these two are yet to pick their nomination forms from their party, Comrade Lucky Akabuike who also resigned from being Special Adviser to the governor on Labour has already bought his form from the People’s Democratic Party.
He is contesting for a seat in the state legislative arm to represent Umuahia North state constituency having waited patiently for it over the years.
For now, it is not clear whether more appointees will resign to pursue their political ambition from the administration of Governor Orji.
