chinedum orji

From Steph Clem, Umuahia

The first son of Abia state governor, Chinedum Orji says he has the right to contest any elective position in the state irrespective of what anybody thinks.

He also said no one can intimidate or cow him into shelving his ambition to be a legislator.

Mr. Orji who just expressed his interest by the picking of the PDP nomination form,  however denied the insinuations and rumours making the rounds that he wants to be the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, saying it is not in his interest.

According to him, he would not even accept the position of a Speaker because his nature is such that once he is on the right path, nothing could change his position and might cause impeachment for him.

He said he is competent and wants to give his people of Umuahia Central state constituency quality representation as a legislator adding that he has the democratic right to contest for any office now and in the future.

Mr. disclosed that he has been under immense pressure to contest for elective office but denied categorically that he is nursing the ambition to be speaker of the legislative arm which he said would not favour his constituency.
