This Tuesday was the inaugural meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and all the 36 state governors and it rose with a decision to end the financial crisis confronting some state governments.
Not less than 16 states are owing workers’ salaries, some up to six months.
Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, the Zamfara State Governor, Abdulazeez Yari, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.
Governor Yari, said the governors were not disposed to the idea of a bailout as was reported days back but requested the refund of Federal Government projects they carried out in their states.
The governors are also requesting that all monies made on behalf of the federation should be paid into the federation account and shared among all the tiers of government as provided by the constitution.
