Nigeria has recorded 1,634 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 133,552.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet of Tuesday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded six new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours under review.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 26 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 440 were recorded in Lagos, 160 in Anambra, 158 in FCT, 134 in Rivers and 103 in Abia state.
Other states with new cases include, Oyo-90 Enugu-81 Osun-73 Gombe-54 Kwara-50 Ogun-32 Plateau-32 Akwa Ibom-31 Ondo-24 Borno-23 Delta-23 Ebonyi-21 Taraba-21 Bayelsa-16 Kaduna-15 Nasarawa-13 Jigawa-12 Bauchi-11 Kano-11 Zamfara-4 Sokoto-2.
NCDC said till date, 133,552 cases have been confirmed, 107551 treated and discharged and 1613 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
The Health Agency said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating response activities nationwide.
