Nigeria has recorded 521 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 152,074.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Sunday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded 8 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours under review.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 20 states including the Federal Capial Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 166 were recorded in Lagos, 52 in Ogun, 47 in Rivers, 37 in Adamawa and 37 in Ebonyi.
Other states with new cases include, Akwa Ibom-25 Osun-21 Bayelsa-18 Kaduna-17 Oyo-16 FCT-15 Ekiti-14 Kano-12 Edo-12 Borno-9 Yobe-8 Ondo-6 Nasarawa-4 Bauchi-2 Kwara-3.
The NCDC said till date, 152,074 infections have been confirmed, 128,619 treated and discharged and 1,839 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT Abuja.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
