Nigeria has recorded 542 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 152,616.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) disclosed this in a late night tweet on Monday.
The Health Agency said the country unfortunately recorded 23 new COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours under review.
The Centre said the new cases were reported from 21 states including the Fedral Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 99 were recorded in Lagos, 91 in Ebonyi, 48 in Ogun, 44 in Kaduna and 42 in Oyo state.
Other states with new cases include, 33 Ondo-25 FCT-24 Kebbi-23 Osun-20 Ekiti-17 Nasarawa-12 Imo-11 Delta-10 Gombe-9 Kano-8 Katsina-7 Rivers-7 Edo-5 Plateau-4 Bauchi-3.
NCDC said till date, 152,616 have been confirmed, 129,300 treated and discharged and 1,862 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
