Nigeria has recorded 655 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 153842.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Wednesday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded 11 new COVID-19 related deaths n the 24 hours under review.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 21 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 240 were recorded in Lagos, 88 in Ogun, 56 in Rivers, 51 in FCT and 43 in Kaduna state.
Other states with new cases include, Kano-25 Plateau-21 Taraba-19 Edo-17 Abia15 Delta-13 Nasarawa-11 Akwa Ibom-10 Kwara-10 Oyo-10 Kebbi-9 Borno-5 Bayelsa-4 Gombe-4 Ekiti-2 Osun-2.
NCDC said till date, 153,842 have been confirmed, 130,818 treated and discharged and 1,885 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
