Nigeria has recorded 634 new cases of the novel Coronavirus bringing the total number confirmed cases in the country to 154,476.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Thursday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that the country recorded six new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours under review.
The Health Agency said, the new cases were reported from 22 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 259 were recorded in Lagos, 45 in Osun, 38 in Edo, 35 in Ogun and 33 in FCT.
Other states with new cases include, Anambra-26 Imo-24 Ondo-24 Akwa Ibom-20 Plateau-20 Abia-19 Kaduna-19 Ebonyi-17 Borno-10 Rivers-10 Kano-9 Delta-8 Kebbi-7 Nasarawa-4 Oyo-3 Enugu-2 Ekiti-2.
NCDC said till date, 154,476 infections have been confirmed, 131,699 treated discharged and 1,891 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT Abuja.
The NCDC said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
