Nigeria has recorded 600 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 155,076.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Friday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded 11 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 21 states including the Federal Capital FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 169 were recorded in Lagos, 92 in Taraba, 65 in Cross River and 57 in FCT.
Other state with new cases include, 38 Rivers-28 Kwara-26 Akwa Ibom-25 Osun-21 Plateau-12 Borno-9 Gombe-9 Abia-8 Ebonyi-8 Ekiti-7 Kano-7 Delta-6 Oyo-6 Bauchi-3 Nasarawa-3 Sokoto-1.
NCDC said till date, 155,076 infections have been confirmed, 132,544 treated and discharged and 1,902 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
