Nigeria has recorded 708 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 157,671.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Thursday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control disclosed that the country also recorded 12 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last hours under review.
The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 21 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, Adamawa state lead the daily chart with 180 cases followed by Lagos and Ondo with 141 and 60 new ifections respectively.
Other states with new cases include, Anambra-54 Rivers-41 Taraba-33 Edo-30 Abia-22 Kaduna-22 FCT-21 Akwa Ibom-20 Kano-20 Plateau-11 Ekiti-10 Kebbi-10 Nasarawa-10 Bayelsa-7 Ogun-5 Osun-5 Oyo-5 Gombe-1.
NCDC said till date, 157,671 cases have been confirmed, 136,335 treated and discharged and 1,951 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT Abuja.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
