The federal government says negotiations are still ongoing to accent to the demands of the striking doctors including the request for the payment of hazard allowances.
This has been one of the major issues of contention between the government and the striking doctors.
Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, during his appeal to resident doctors noted that the continuous strike is putting the lives of Nigerians at risk and appeals to the striking doctors to go back to work
This strike makes it the third time this year that resident doctors have embarked on a strike.
Dr. Ehanire says the resident doctors should not use the strike as a tool to hamper the health of Nigerians and put their lives at risk.
On Monday, Association of Resident Doctors resumed the strike, siting unfulfilled promises by the government.
