Nigeria continues to see lower figures of single-day COVID-19 cases as it reports another set of infections below the 200 mark.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in a late night tweet on Thursday.
The Health Agency in their latest update on the pandemic said a total of 187 cases were recorded on Thursday.
The Centre said the new infections were reported from 16 states including the Federal Capital Territory.
According to NCDC, Lagos state lead the daily case chart with 41 new cases, followed by Imo and Ogun state with 20 and 14 new cases respectively.
Other states with new cases include, FCT-10 Kebbi-11 Rivers-10 Akwa Ibom-8 Plateau-4 Ebonyi-3 Kaduna-3 Kano-3 Osun-3 Oyo-2 Ekiti-1 Gombe-1 Nasarawa-1.
The NCDC said as at Friday, 19 of March 2021, a total of 161,409 cases have been confirmed, 146,890 treated and discharged and 2,027 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT Abuja.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
