Nigeria has recorded 44 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 163,837.
Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Monday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) disclosed that the country also recorded one new COVID-19 related death in the last 24 hours under review.
The Centre said the new cases were reported from 5 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, Enugu lead the daily chart with 22 new cases, followed by Lagos with 15 new infections.
Other states with new cases include, FCT-4 Osun-2 Kaduna-1.
NCDC said till date, 163,837 have been confirmed, 154,177 treated and discharged and 2,061 deaths recorded in 36 states and the FCT.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
