Nigeria has recorded 89 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 164,000.

Announcing the new figures in a late night tweet on Wednesday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) also disclosed that no fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours under review.

The Health Agency said the new cases were reported from 10 states including the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 19 were recorded in Lagos, 15 in FCT and 12 in Adamawa state.

Other states with new infections include, Akwa Ibom-10 Cross River-9 Rivers-6 Ogun-6 Kano-5 Kaduna-4 Osun-3.

The NCDC said till date, 164,000 have been confirmed, 154,270 treated and discharged and 2,061 deaths recorded 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities
