Nigeria has recorded 96 new cases of the novel Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 162,178.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in an early morning tweet via its official twitter handle on Thursday.
The Health Agency said no new fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours under review.
The Centre disclosed that the new cases were reported from 15 states excluding the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
According to the NCDC, of the new cases, 28 were recorded in Lagos, 28 in Yobe and 20 in Akwa Ibom state.
Other state with new cases include, 10 Cross River-9 Kaduna-6 Kano-5 Edo-4 Oyo-3 Plateau-3 Jigawa-2 Osun-2 Borno-1 Nasarawa-1 Rivers-1 Sokoto-1.
The NCDC said till date, 162,178 have been confirmed, 148,726 treated and discharged and 2,031 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
The Centre said a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities nationwide.
