Attempt by members of the All Progressives Congress to remove the majority leader of the House of Representatives, Mulikat Akande and the her Deputy Leo Ogor failed today on the floor.

This followed a point of order raised by Sulieman Kawu sighting Order 6 rule 7 under matters of privileges.

He noted that there should be a change of leadership prior to the fact that the APC has assumed majority in the house.  

But this was stalled by the Speaker of the House Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who cautioned members to thread with caution saying the matter is in court.

Meanwhile Six aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party defected to the APC, Labour Party, APGA and Accord.

This brings the number of members of the APC to 181 and the PDP, 156 with others, 23
