Plateau state Governor, Jonah Jang says the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega and his team must prove to Nigerians that they are ready to conduct an election where no Nigerian will be disenfranchised.

INEC claims to have distributed over 75% of the permanent voter cards, but for a sitting governor who is yet to collect his PVC, INEC’s assertion that all Nigerians will get their PVC before the general election is far from convincing.

While speaking to newsmen in Jos over the weekend, The Governor  said that should citizens on the Plateau fail to collect their cards on or before the 8th of March, he will direct the people to go out and use their temporary voter’s card for the election.

He expressed disappointment that the exercise had turned out to be a political issue and argument between the ruling party and the main opposition party instead of collaboration towards credible elections that would be acceptable to Nigerians and the international community.

The governor appealed to Plateau People to calm down as he will do everything within his powers to ensure that they exercise their civic responsibility.
