Billionaire businessman and politician, Seyi Makinde who was one of those that contested for Oyo state Governorship during the last elections has said that he would not quit politics on the basis of losing the election to the incumbent, Abiola Ajimobi.
A national daily had inferred that Makinde had told his supporters that if he lost the last election, it would be the end of his participation in partisan politics; but he described the report as misleading, diversionary and far from the truth.
Pointedly, he said since the election was held, he was yet to meet with his followers on his political future, wondering where the writer got his information.
The SDP governorship candidate in a statement through his Director of Media and Publicity, Wale Adele, noted that the decision on the next phase his political direction would be taken after due consultation with his political constituency, adding this would also be made public.
He said members of the press should not be in a haste to speculate on what is in the mind of an individual, particularly somebody like Makinde who can be reached at the slightest notice by the said writer.
He urged his supporters across the state to wait for the right time when they will all meet to take a decision about the political future of their leader, stressing it will be a collective decision.
