In a renewed bid to check corruption within the force, the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase has directed the force anti-corruption Teams to immediately commence the monitoring of activities of Police officers on the highways
The new Police boss had on resumption of office few weeks ago set up the IGP anti-corruption teams to monitor the conduct of police officers on the Highways, Police Stations and Formations nationwide.
Statement from the Force Headquarter hinted that the IGP has once again expressed his resolve to rid the Force of all forms of corruption and warned officers and men to desist from corrupt practices.
The statement signed by Emmmanuel Ojukwu the Force Public Relations Officer urged all police officers to be mindful of the constitutional rights of the citizenry, while performing their statutory duties, warning that the Force will not hesitate to punish indicted officers over excessive use of force and unjustifiable application of lethal weapons contrary to standing rules of engagement
