The increasing reports of kidnapping and violent crimes within the jurisdiction of the Zone 6 of the Nigerian Police have gotten on the wrong side of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.
Mr. Arase has therefore issued a stern warning to officers and men within Cross-River, Rivers, Ebonyi and Akwa-Ibom states to sit up and ensure an immediate reduction in the rate of crime in the area.
The IGP has also restricted officers from the zone from going on any kind of leave, annual or casual.
While urging the public to continue to collaborate with the force in keeping a crime free society, the Inspector General of Police pledged his commitment to maintaining a peaceful country where citizens will be free to go about their legitimate duties without any fear.
