The senate and Service Chiefs are still in a closed session in the National Assembly over the extension of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
The meeting has lasted for up to six hours.
The senate is expected to announce its position on whether the state of emergency would be extended by another six month or not.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police failed to honour the senate invitation as he sent a DIG to represent him who was sent back by the senate insisting that the IGP Suleiman Abbah should appear in person.
It would be recalled that the IGP was summoned by the upper chamber following the invasion of the National Assembly by armed policemen last Thursday to prevent Speaker Aminu Tanbuwal from presiding over the House of Representatives plenary.
