Former governor of Adamawa state Murtala  Nyako and his son Abdulazeez will be free to return home if they are able to perfect the N350m bail for each of the accused, pronounced by a Federal High Court on Friday.

The former governor is standing being prosecuted for a N29bn alleged fraud.

According to the EFCC, former governor Nyako, his son in collaboration with 2 other persons ran a fraud net with five companies while the man served as governor of Adamawa State.

The suspects pleaded not guilty to the 34 count charge. 

Justice Evo Chukwu on Wednesday ordered that they be remanded in the custody of the EFCC. And today, Friday, the judge ordered that in addition to meeting the bail conditions, the suspects should deposit their passport and other travel document with the court registra.
