The office of the national security adviser has described as total falsehood reports that the speaker Aminu Tambuwal would be arrested.
A report said that the National Security Adviser, retired Col. Sambo Dasuki ordered the arrest at a meeting with vice president Namadi Sambo and the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba.
A director in the NSA’s office, retired Col. Bello Fadile said that the national security adviser had been outside the country since Wednesday.
Mister Fadile urged for the confirmation of facts before they are published.
Meanwhile, speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal says he is ready to make himself available if security agencies need his attention.
The speaker claimed that there is a plan to arrest him if he refuses to honour a yet to be given invitation to the force headquarters.
In a statement by mister Tambuwal’s spokesman, Imam Imam, the speaker said that as a law abiding citizen, he is ready to answer any lawful invitation.
The speaker had been in the eye of the storm since he announced his defection from PDP to the APC.
On Thursday, he survived what seemed to be an impeachment plot but not without chaotic scenes.
