The NFF Appeals Committee headed by Okechukwu Ajunwa has annulled the Sept 30 elections in Warri that brought in Amaju Pinnick as President
Mr. Ajunwa while annulling the election warned Amaju Pinnick not to parade himself as NFF President henceforth pending the conduct of a bye election
The Appeals committee chairman also disqualified Felix Anyansi and Sherif Rabiu Inuwa from the board and from the next election till the end of the tenure of board members from their states
Our correspondent reports that the disqualification of Shehu Dikko constituted serious breach of the statutes, electoral guideline and fundamental rights of the candidate and was the basis for the appeal committee’s harmer.
Over the year, NFF has been through several leadership crisis and the country eventually paid a huge price for it. Super Eagles inability to qualify for the 2015 Nations Cup has been traced to the instability in the body that runs football in the country.
For the records, this is the second time that a defending champion in the competition will fail to qualify to defend their trophy in the Nations Cup.
