Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, has set a new Guinness World Record in the cooking the longest number of hours.

Miss Effiong, also known as Hilda Baci, had earlier broken the previous record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019.

Now, Hilda set a new record of 100 hours, 39 minutes and 21 seconds on Monday.

Lata Tondon of India cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, to break the previous title, however, Hilda set a new record at 8.40 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.

Baci started her cooking marathon challenge on Friday at the Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos State.

Hilda comes from a family of chefs, originating from Akwa Ibom state, as her mother runs a popular restaurant in the Lekki area of Lagos.
