Before last week, many Nigerians had the mindset that the Labour Movement will remain the unpolluted voice of the common man by championing people oriented cause without blemish. After the outcome of the National Convention of the Nigeria Labour Congress on Tuesday, that faith may have taken a downward slide.
One of the Presidential Candidates in the aborted convention, Ayuba Wabba at have accused the Dr. Nasir Fagae led Credential Screening Committee of deliberate ploy to compromised the integrity of the Polls.
Over three thousand delegates were accredited for the three-day conference which commenced in Abuja last week to elect leaders of the labour union following the expiration of the eight year tenure of the Abdulwaheed Umar led executive.
The elections were marred by irregularities allegedly orchestrated by the credential screening committee headed by the ASUU President, Dr. Nasir Fagae
Another aggrieved Presidential Candidate, Joe Ajaero, also accused the Dr. Fagae led Committee of duplicating names of candidates on the ballot papers which threw the process into chaos.

A meeting of the National Executive Council of the union according to the statement has been fixed for Wednesday next week to resolve the issues.
