The Nigeria Labour Congress has commended President Mohammadu Buhari for refusing to interfere with the Elections of new leadership of the National Assembly.

Statement signed by the Acting President of the NLC, Comrade Kiri Mohammed, stated that the intrigues before and during the elections should serve as a lesson to all politicians, political parties and all organisations who may want to impose candidate on others and disrupt democratic process in a bid to satisfy the personal interest of a few.
While congratulating the new leadership of the National Assembly, NLC expressed hope that the election will establish the independence of the legislature and strengthen the law makers commitment to deepening democracy and development in Nigeria.
