The Nigeria Labour Congress has rated the performance of President Jonathan led Administration low in the past one year

In a text of  New Year Message to Nigerian workers, President of the NLC, Comrade Abdulwaheed Ibrahim Omar said there is no reason to cheer following the decay and alleged tragedy recorded in all sectors of the economy in the last one year

On the Labour front, the NLC blamed the government for the spate of strikes  in the health and education sectors following the alleged refusal of government to honour agreements it voluntarily entered into with the unions.

The NLC  said the reports collated from  state its councils indicated that a number of state governments and some federal Government Agencies have  not paid their workers December salaries as the year comes to an end.

The Labour union directed its state councils in Benue, Plateau and Osun  to serve appropriate ultimatums on their government to pay the arrears of salaries  ranging from 3 to 8 months or face disruption of services

On the political front, the labour union berated the Government for alleged intolerance to opposing views and expressed concern over alleged lack  of political debates in on going campaign for political offices in 2015

On security and human rights violations, the NLC  lamented over the senseless killing of innocent Nigerians  by Boko Haram insurgents and commended the Government for giving the Human Rights Commission free and unfettered freedom to conduct investigation into alleged rights violations in Abuja Zaria and other parts of the country
