Governor Rochas Okorocha, his deputy Eze Madumere and the elected members of the Imo state House of Assembly were on Thursday issued certificates of return by INEC.
The ceremony which took place at the State INEC office in Owerri saw 22 out of the 27 elected members collect their certificates. The other 5 were not issued due to errors from the commission.
After collecting his certificate, Governor Okorocha commended all the relevant agencies who one way or the other partnered INEC to ensure that the elections were peacefully concluded in the state despite earlier apprehension that the state was one out of the few mentioned election volatile states.
While assuring the people of the state of dividends of democracy, Governor Okorocha charged the electoral umpire to as a matter of urgency bring to book all those whose actions threatened the credibility of the polls.
