The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it has filed a formal charge against Spokesman for the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh.
Counsel to the Commission, who revealed this in Abuja, said the PDP leader will be arraigned in court soon.
This is coming as the Federal High Court in Abuja declined to grant an abridge time for the hearing of Olisa Metuh’s fundamental rights enforcement suit.
He was arrested by the EFCC on the 5th of January in connection with his alleged involvement a $2 billion arms fund scandal
His lawyer, Fedayo Adedipe, had filed the suit to challenge the continuous detention of his client without a formal charge.
In a short ruling, Justice Abang Okon dismissed the application insisting that the EFCC deserves the mandatory five days to respond to the allegation.
The matter was subsequently adjourned to the 20th of January for hearing.
