Senators on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are insisting that Service Chiefs be summoned to explain issues bothering on the postponement of the general elections.

Leader of the APC senators, George Akume, at a press conference in Abuja, questioned why the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, was summoned when the real reasons behind the shift emanated from the military.

Senator Akume noted that the opposition is worried why the elections were shifted when the Council of State had agreed that elections be held.

He argued that postponement was tantamount to treason, noting that there are serious manipulations and deliberate attempts to undermine democratic institutions in the country.

Senator Akume also pointed out that insistence on the card reader is another ploy by the PDP to postpone elections.
