The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has begun disciplinary actions against the officer that leaked the video of the former governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, in detention.

Over the weekend, two days after Mr. Obiano was arrested by operatives of the commission in Lagos, a video went viral on the social media, showing the former governor being interrogated.

Public outrage greeted the leak, describing it as the height of unethical conduct by the anti-graft body.

Now, EFCC says a discreet investigation has revealed the “errant officer behind the odious act.”

The commission added that the officer is being subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, a credible source within EFCC has hinted that the conditions for the administrative bail offered to the former governor are lenient enough.

The source told HOMELAND NEWS that the bail will be guaranteed by two directors in the federal civil service and, or persons with landed property in Maitama, Wuse or Asokoro areas of Abuja.

It is uncertain whether the former governor will be allowed to travel out of the country within the provisions of the bail.
