The Ondo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Mr Lasisi Oluboyo as the new Deputy Governor following the impeachment of Alli Olanusi. Before this, Mr. Oluboyo was the commissioner for Agriculture in the state.
The house Confirmed his nomination following clearance by the selection committee
Majority leader, Ifedayo Akinsoyinu moved the motion for the adoption of the selection committee’s report which was seconded by Fatai Olotu from Akoko North East.
The speaker then sought the opinion of all members on the issue who all gave their consent.
Responding to his confirmation, the new deputy governor Mr. Oluboyo thanked the people of the state, the lawmakers and Governor Olusegun Mimiko for the confidence reposed in him
Earlier today, the house impeached the former deputy governor after considering the report of the 7-man committee set up by the state chief judge to investigate allegations of gross misconduct leveled against the deputy governor.
Trouble started for the deputy governor when on March 26, he defected to the APC from the PDP where he had moved with his boss, Gov. Olusegun Mimiko.
