Indonesian immigration personnel have arrested and tortured a Nigerian diplomat, Ibrahim Baba Mai-Sule, in Jakata.
HOMELAND NEWS cannot confirm why the former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Indonesia was dehumanized.
Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has petitioned the Indonesian authority demanding explanation to embarrassing incident.
In the video, the diplomat was seen held down at the back seat of a moving car by three men.
His plea and cry of “I can’t breath” didn’t deter them. See the video down this page
A letter from the ministry indicates that the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria has been summoned where he attempted an explanation and tendered an apology.
It should be noted that there is not strong statement in the letter but mere narration of formal engagements.
“The Nigerian Government has complained strongly to the Government of Indonesia, and the Ambassador of Indonesia to Nigeria was summoned by the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“The Ambassador explained what he understood happened and apologised unreservedly on behalf of the Government of Indonesia. The Nigerian Government has sent an official protest to the Government of Indonesia.”
“The Ambassador of Nigeria to Indonesia has confirmed that the immigration official involved had since come to the Nigerian Embassy to apologise to the Ambassador and the diplomat concerned.”
