The Resident Electoral Commissioner, in Oyo State, Rufus Akeju has disclosed that the ballot papers and result sheets would be delivered to the commission this Wednesday. 

Ambassador Akeju stated this on Monday while meeting with security chiefs tagged “Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security held at the commission’s office in Ibadan, the State capital. 

The REC who noted that the meeting was to conclude and finalize all strategies concerning security before, during and after the elections also disclosed that he would personally receive the sensitive materials with party officials in attendance before they are moved under tight security to various INEC offices in the 33 local government areas in the state. 

Ambassador Akeju noted that on Friday all “sensitive materials will be moved to the 351 registration area camps alongside poll officials to ensure timely arrival at the voting points on Saturday 28th March, 2015. 

He assured that in order to ensure credible polls, “the state will receive a large number of both local and foreign observers who are willing to traverse the state in order to see the voting procedures, observe voters in action and record adequacy or otherwise of the security arrangement. 

He said the commission had packaged documents that will assist the security agencies in the task of mobilization and deployment of their personnel. 

Security chiefs in attendance include those of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Customs, Director of State Security Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
