The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested two ladies who hide under the cover of hijab to traffic drugs.

36-year-old Chioma Afam and her partner, Peace Chidinma Caleb, 22, were apprehended for smuggling 296,000 tablets of Diazepam and Exol-5 from Onitsha in Anambra state to Gombe state.

NDLEA says Chioma uses multiple names such as Amina, Uzoamaka and Ifunanya.

Chioma and her partner were arrested on Saturday, July 17, during the profiling of inward vehicles into Makurdi, capital of Benue state.

“A search of their vehicle led to the discovery of 43kilograms of Diazepam and 33kg of Exol-5, both weighing 76 kilograms with a total of Two Hundred and Ninety Six Thousand (296,000) tablets packed in four large ‘Ghana must go’ bags.”

According to the agency, the two interstate drug traffickers have rebuffed efforts to take pictures with the exhibits without wearing their hijab.

Below is what NDLEA’s finding revealed to be the image of Chioma Afam.
