President Mohammadu Buhari this evening returned to Nigeria after a two-week medical trip to London.
This is the first time the President left the country to see his doctors since 2020.
Association of Resident Doctors began a strike over unresolved issues with the federal government, grounding operations at the nation’s hospitals.
There were protests at the Abuja House in London by people who said they want the President to return to Nigeria.
In his absence, an acting Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, was appointed to replace Mohammed Abubakar, whose tenure was extended by three months in February.
The President was received on arrival by some officials of his administration.
