The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released Femi Fani-Kayode after being questioned for 7 hours.
Mr. Fani Kayode allegedly used forged medical reports to secure adjournment of his trial at five different times.
The Former Minister of Aviation has been at the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission since 1pm on Tuesday and left some minutes after 7pm
A credible source within the antigraft agency told HOMELAND NEWS that Mr. Fani-Kayode has been under investigation over the documents for two years.
He was said to have sent doctors‘ letters to the court and the EFCC‘s counsel, asking for new adjourned dates due to one particular ailment.
Investigation by operatives of the commission allegedly revealed that the purported doctors who signed the letters are not staff of the hospitals.
It is also alleged that the reference numbers in the letters are unknown to the hospital and Mr. Fani-Kayode is not their patient and letter headed papers were phony.
The next adjourned date is on the 30th November when Mr. Kayode will be expected to be in court.
He has been on trial for various corruption allegations since 2016.
