Authorities of University of Ibadan has ordered immediate closure of the institution over energy crisis in the country hampering delivery of basic utilities to the University.
Students have been unable to access water and power in the past three days. The University authority is concerned that a prolonged situation may heighten tension and lead to violence
Lecturers were also stranded leading to cancellation of lectures and half lecture rooms.
The decision was taken at the meeting of Central committees of Provost and Deans shortly after the student protested.
