Police have confirmed the death of a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tamuno Igbomie who was Principal Security Officer to wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience.
The DSP was reported to have been found dead in his car along the airport road, Abuja on Friday. He was believed to have been killed by yet to be identified assassins who most likely shut him at close range in his car.
The assassins did not remove anything from the victim’s car as his phones and other personal belongings were found intact in the car.
Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police, Emmanuel Ojukwu said the story is true and the police have swung into action to unravel who and how the Police Officer was murdered.
“Yes, a DSP attached to the villa was killed last week Friday, investigation has started to find out the people behind the murder. No arrest has been made yet,” Mr. Ojukwu said.
Late DSP Igbomie who was married with two children was serving at the Federal Capital Territory Police Command before he was drafted to the Presidential Villa as Aide-De-Camp to Patience Jonathan when her husband was the Vice President. He had remained in the Villa until recently when the former first family left office.
