The PDP gubernatorial candidate in Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has been declared winner of the governorship election in the state. This was after the collation of the supplementary elections held on Saturday in some Local Government Areas in the state.
The returning officer, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba announced that PDP polled 16,245 in the supplementary exercise, while APGA got 15,476.
According to the returning officer, Dr. Ikpeazu got a total of 264,713 votes to defeat his closest contender, Mr. Alex Otti who scored 180,882.
Prof. Ozumba said the PDP and its candidate, Dr. Ikpeazu met all conditions as provided by the electoral act and went ahead to declare him winner of the election.
