25 suspected members of a dreaded cult group known as the Black Axe confraternity have been arrested by the Imo state police command.
Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Owerri, the police public relations officer, Andrew Enwerem said that the suspects were arrested at the Federal University of Technology in the state capital following a Tip off.
He said that investigations revealed that the suspected cult members who came from different but neighbouring states of Delta, Anambra and Abia converged at a designated ground for the initiation ceremony of new members.
However, while some of the suspects denied being members of the group, others admitted.
Meanwhile, the Department of the State Services in the state also arrested 3 JSS 3 (Secondary school) students from Emmanuel College over cult related issues.
