Reactions have continued to trail the crisis rocking the Enugu State Government which has sharply divided the State House of Assembly as some prominent indigenes of the state have come to the rescue of the impeached Speaker of the House, Eugene Odo.
They alleged that Eugene Odo and 15 other members opposed the move by Governor Sullivan Chime to borrow about N11bn with few weeks left in his administration which they say will plunge the state into huge debt that will have a long term effect on the in-coming administration.
Lucky Chukwu, a former state legislator and Chinwe Mba, a prominent female politician in the state accused the state governor of orchestrating the storm that has taken over political affairs of the state.
They warned Governor Chime to apply caution as they said “This is like ill wind that blows no one any good”
Meanwhile, Eugene Odo has denied that he was impeached by 8 members of the house on grounds that they lack the numerical strength to remove him as speaker insisting that he remains the speaker of the Enugu state House of Assembly.
He called on the police who had barricaded the entrance of the assembly complex to vacate immediately to enable them carry on with their constitutional responsibilities
