The tension within the APC government in Ondo state may be spilling over as the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, has resigned his membership of the party.
This is the climax of the feud that began some months back between the governor, Rotimi Akeredilu, and his deputy.
The resignation is coming a day after the Deputy Governor was prevented from packing his property from the government house by the security operatives led by the Commissioner of Police.
This may lay to rest weeks of speculation on what the states number two man intends to do as he has picked the membership card of the People’s Democratic Party from his ward
He is expected to officially defect to the PDP with nine members of the state house of assembly on Monday.
The next 24 hours will likely see the official removal of Mr. Ajayi, as the deputy governor as it is not expected that the governor and his deputy will be members of different political parties.
The deputy governor will also be making a formal declaration of his exit from the APC to the PDP.
Recall that the governor is seeking reelection in the poll that will be conducted in September.
