The supplementary election in Ihiala Local Government Area has had a poor start as electoral materials and Adhoc staff were still to leave the LG headquarters, more than one hour after schedule.
The election was announced on Sunday after the collation of results of the Anambra state governorship election was declared inconclusive.
20 local government areas conducted election on Saturday and results submitted.
Ihiala was the only local government where election reportedly did not hold.
Despite scheduling this election to begin at 10am, against the usual 8am, deployment of personnel and materials did not start until 11am.
How this extreme lateness will affect the entire exercise is still a concern.
Mathematically, the final result of the governorship election can be determined from this election as the over 140,000 registered voters here are more than the difference between APGA which is leading in the race and PDP coming second.
Top three parties as the time the election was declared inconclusive recorded the following results.
APGA: 103946; PDP: 51322; APC: 42942
Can anything realistically change?
