The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has withdrawn from the ongoing townhall meeting for selected presidential candidates and their deputies.
The PDP candidate was scheduled to feature on THE CANDIDATES on Tuesday but cancelled late on Monday. No reason was given for the withdrawal.
Four candidates, including Labour Party’s Peter Obi, have been featured on the interactive show hosted by veteran journalist, Kadaria Ahmed between Wednesday last week when the show began and Monday.
Top media outlets in Nigeria, including the Nigeria Television Authority and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, are broadcasting the 2-hour townhall live from 7pm
A notice sent out by the producers of THE CANDIDATES to their media partners indicate that Kolawole Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party has been called in to take over the slot.

Please be advised that the scheduled candidate for tonight’s show, The Peoples Democratic Party’s Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates, will be featured.
In place of them, we have secured the commitment of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates of the Peoples Redemption Party, Mr. AbdulLateef Kolawole Abiola and Mr. Haro Haruna Zego.

There are indications that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the APC has confirmed he will be honouring the invitation to feature on THE CANDIDATES on Wednesday.
