On the 16th of March, a Federal High Court had order for fresh governorship election in Ebonyi state since Governor Dave Umahi had left the PDP on whose platform it won the election.
The court also declared the seats of 16 members of the House of Assembly vacant.
The judgment of the court relied on the principle that votes cast during an election is for the political party.
Gov Umahi has appealed the judgment.
