The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, has reached out to the Obosi community, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state with new transformer.
This is coming weeks after a branch of the Obosi Development Union, public condemned the senator for failing to stand and be counted when it mattered most.
On the 15th of July, Senator Ekwunife was conspicuously absent when the Senate voted against the electronic transmission of election results.
Her absence was visited with outrage from many of her constituents which led to the letter by the Abuja branch of the O.D.U.
In a swift move of courting the people in exchange for their confidence, the senator handed over an installed transformer to the community.
The Project which is situated at Isunjaba/Nwaziki, Awada, Obosi Urban is said to be part of her commitment on electrification aimed at alleviating the suffering of the residents of the community.
President General of the Obosi Development Union, IK Okolo, while commending the senator, pleaded for assistance as the town wishes to set up a joint patrol of Anambra Vigilante Groups in Obosi inland and urban to tackle the menace.
The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III, who was represented by the palace secretary, Igwebuike Okenwa thanked Senator Ekwunife for the projects she has attracted to the community.
He assured of the community’s support, praying God to continue to bless her as she discharges her legislative duties.
Meanwhile, speaking during the handover exercise of the transformer, Ekwunife who was represented by a delegation of her Project Team led by her legislative aide, Hon. Ify Chinwuko reassured of her commitment that the zone would witness more developments from her representation.
