The Labour Party (LP), Governorship Candidate in Delta State, Great Ogboru on Wednesday warned against the usage of card readers without proper arrangement for this year’s general elections.
Mr. Ogboru who spoke with reporters on the sideline during the party’s National Executive Meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital said it would be disastrous if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), conduct the elections with card readers without the issuance of accreditation certificates to the parties agents before the commencement of the elections.
According to him, “if the general elections is going to be credible and accepted by committee of nations, the INEC has to first of all collate the result of the people that are accredited and make a print out available to the parties agents”.
Mr. Ogboru while speaking on the introduction of card readers commended INEC for the initiative adding that “It is an open secret that the people in the commission are men and women of honour but they should make sure where they found it difficult, they should improvise and their method capable of making the electorate to accept”
He urged electorates to always exercise maturity during and after elections.
